If you haven’t heard of or tried a simmer pot before, you are in for a treat. This is a perfect and all-natural way of deodorizing your home. If you are about to have any guests come to your home, or you are doing some spring cleaning yourself and would enjoy some aromatherapy during it- here is a perfect and simple recipe for you. Also, feel free to add or switch up herbs in this simmer pot- I know cinnamon will also be nice in this one.
You will need: fresh or dried rosemary, one sliced up lemon, one teaspoon of vanilla extract, and optionally you can also add some lemon and rosemary essential oils.
Grab a saucepan, fill it with water, and bring to a low boil. Then put temperature on a low simmer. Add a good bunch of rosemary to the pot and optionally some rosemary essential oil drops for preference. Give that a good stir and now add the lemon slices and the teaspoon of vanilla extract. Now, just let this simmer for as long as you would like. Experiment with adding more essential oils and vanilla extract or add other herbs to the simmer pot as desired.
When you are finished you can add these ingredients to your outdoor compost pile, put down the garbage disposal to clean it, or create an all-purpose cleaning spray with this mixture.
For the spray, add two cups of white vinegar in a quart jar and then pour the remainder of the simmer pot. Let sit in a cool place for 10-14 days. After that strain the mixture into a spray bottle and now you have an all-purpose cleaner after enjoying the simmer pot.
